The TPS84250RKGR is a 2.5A Step-down Integrated Power Solution that combines a 2.5A DC/DC converter with an inductor and passives into a low profile. This total power solution allows as few as five external components and eliminates the loop compensation and magnetic part selection process. Its compact point-of-load design offers greater than 90% efficiency and excellent power dissipation capability. The TPS84250 offers the flexibility and the feature-set of a discrete point-of-load design and is ideal for powering a wide range of ICs and systems. It requires a minimum input capacitance of 4.4µF of ceramic type. The voltage rating of input capacitors must be greater than the maximum input voltage. The output capacitance of the TPS84250 can be comprised of either all ceramic capacitors or a combination of ceramic and bulk capacitors.
