The TPS62234DRYT is a high frequency synchronous step down (buck) DC to DC converter with fixed output in 6 pin USON package. This ultra small converter allows use of tiny low cost chip inductors and capacitors. It supports applications powered by Li-ion batteries with extended voltage range. The minimum input voltage of 2.05V allows operation from Li-primary or two alkaline batteries. At medium to heavy loads, the converter operates in PWM mode and automatically enters power save mode operation at low load currents to maintain high efficiency over entire load current range. Due to its excellent PSRR and AC load regulation performance, the TPS62234 is also suitable to replace linear regulators to obtain better power conversion efficiency. The power save mode reduces quiescent current consumption down to 22µA during light load operation. It is optimized to achieve low output voltage ripple even with small external component and features excellent AC load regulation.
