The DRV8886ATEVM from Texas Instruments is an evaluation module (EVM) for DRV8886AT 2A stepper motor driver with integrated sense resistor. The DRV8886AT is a medium voltage dual H-bridge driver and highly configurable power stage device. The IC is fully integrated with two N-channel power MOSFET H-bridge drivers, a microstepping indexer and integrated current sensing. The EVM demonstrates integrated current sensing capabilities and performance of DRV8886AT IC. The EVM includes DRV8886AT to control a stepper motor, MSP430F2617 to control DRV8886AT inputs and USB to UART to communicate between GUI and MSP430F2617. It houses an MSP430 microcontroller and an USB interface chip. The USB chip allows for serial communications from a PC computer where a Windows application is used to schedule serial commands. These commands can be used to control each of the device signals and drive the stepper motor by issuing the step commands at the desired rate.
