The NCP1594AMNTXG from On Semiconductor is a 4A high efficiency synchronous buck converter in a 24 pin 4mm x 4mm QFN package. This high output current synchronous PWM converter integrates two N-channel power MOSFETs. It utilizes externally compensated voltage mode control to provide good transient response, ease of implementation and excellent loop stability. The part enables ability to optimize the size versus efficiency trade-off and the adjustability to meet various POL applications. Adjustable features include soft-start timing, switching frequency, output voltage and mode of operation (fixed CCM mode or DCM/CCM operation). Additional features include a REFIN input that allows for use of an external reference which can be used in DDR termination applications. 9 output voltages can be selected with 2 inputs or the part can be adjusted externally with 2 external resistors. It is used in 3.3V and 5V bus rail point of loads and DDR termination.
